My name is Alex Duthie, a retired Professional Engineer and author of four books. Over my career, I navigated fourteen industries, inspired by a Personnel Manager who advised me to change every five years. By age twenty, I had already moved from the factory floor to tool and product design, shaping a life of initiative. Life has not been without its shadows. My first wife and I raised four children—two in Scotland and two in Canada. Tragically, we lost our eldest son in 1972 and eldest daughter in 1973, experiences that taught me resilience and the importance of understanding. My book, An Engineer’s 89 Years of Memories, chronicles my career and family life. I have also authored Absolute Time (science), Blending Cultures (fiction), my biography, and The Fundamentals of Golf.
